1. I think the media is to blame for Trump's rise and sustained popularity.

Of course the voters at some point bear responsibility but it was the media who gave this non-politician, never held office, loudmouth television figure a platform and airtime.

We are a culture of celebrity worship, appearance over substance, cuz thinking is HARD!

So, we go with name recognition and sound bites and the politicians that do well play to these characteristics.

With one exception-- Senator Sanders spoke to our genuine aspirations and did remarkably well considering being largely ignored by the media.

Anyway, we need to be afraid. If this nation will elect a dullard like George Bush twice, a celebrity big mouth like Trump stands a regrettably very good chance of taking the presidency in the general election.
