The monarchy is absolutely ridiculous in theory, but it tends to work in practice. One of the ironies of life. We elect enough idiots into office, why not deal with the idiots who are raised an trained to do the job. I doubt that many envy them. I love Thomas Jefferson, but he was wrong and the US is no different in that regard. Only difference in the States is, it's more about wealth than genes, but not always. American politics and corporate power is full of dynasties. The beauty of a constitutional monarchy is that it is essentially incorruptible, completely harmless, yet there when needed.
