Violent Extremism [View all]

Most violent extremists (religious, political) tend to have one key thing in common:

They're men.

Since both political and religious laws throughout time have tended to favor men as the more privileged and favored gender in societies, maybe men tend to favor a more literal interpretation of laws (secular or religious) than women?

Rather than criticize specific religions, I tend to focus on the cultures, because the culture seems to be what indicates whether or not religion is followed with a fundamental, moderate or progressive lens.

We damn sure are in dire need of cultural transformation toward a more caring, just way of being and doing that works for everyone.

Thoughts?
