In reply to the discussion: What is an assault weapon? [View all]hunter

I'm glad I don't have any imaginary "bad guy" friends always living in my head, the sort I might have to whip out my big gun and shoot some indefinite day, some indefinite circumstance.
I've interacted with many sorts of armed people, from cops to cowboys to sad little fourteen year olds who break into people's houses. I don't waste any mental energy on imaginary gunfights, I've witnessed a few real gunfights, and it's bangity-bang-bang and over before anyone knows what the hell just happened.
Self defense? What a pathetic fucking joke.
Bad guys shoot first.
Ronald Reagan was surrounded by well trained, well armed Secret Service men and he and Jim Brady and a Secret Service agent and a cop still got shot.
Piss on guns.

For regulation, I'd rather look at how much hot lead comes out the barrel, and how often.

So you are saying you know nothing about guns, but want to write a law anyway

Because there are situations in which assaulting someone is perfectly legal, such as self-defense.

Because "assault weapons" is a made up term. It really refers to guns that LOOK military.

Don't need a gun in my pants to walk down the street. There are plenty of alternatives to gunz.

What I'm really surprised hasn't come up is rifle-caliber handguns with arm braces.

Anyone trying to introduce type-specific gun control needs to care. N.T.
