Suddenly, a fleet of cruiser-sized roaches boiled out into the sunshine. We jumped back, but the skink jumped in. Biting, biting biting ...every roach in sight. We thought it was gratuitous killer instinct at its worse. But no. The skink took a rest, and proceeded to eat at leisure. Half-hour later, he was still at it. Few of the roaches were killed, only wounded. But the skink knew it was easy-peasy to scarf 'em up. And he knew what we were up to. Wolf aids man, man aids skink.
