8. They use dog whistles to call the herd to chow

Their whole game has been talk one thing when no one actually wanted to do anything about it. Example - abortion -- talk about it but don't actually do anything. Those one issue voters are in their back pocket so there is no expense in wooing them. Same with fiscal restraint, guns, etc.

Trump has thrown away the dog whistles on race and exposed their base.

The lived "perception is reality" and let their marketing department (Radio and Fox News) take over. Trump is a disaster of an ad campaign exposing them and their base.
