The Bay Area Rainbow Symphony had a memorial/fundraiser last night. All the musicians were there on their own time. They donated all the funds to Equality Florida and OneOrlando. The conductor, Dawn Harms, is a wonderful woman who gave a very heartfelt speech before a performance of Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony. It was a very emotional, visceral performance and every one in the hall was very moved. You could tell the LGBT musicians wanted to give something and it was reflected in their efforts.
