Dem sit-in in House chamber against gun violence. Good thing these Reps aren't teachers in Mexico. [View all]

Once in a while, you have to make your voice heard. Sunday, eight teachers in Mexico are were shot for staging a sit-in blocking a road when police open fire with ammunition on the demonstration. Too bad they weren't politicians! [center]

Sometimes you have to give your life to be heard.
How many have given their lives to gun violence without being heard by the Republican Congress?

#‎BREAKING‬: House Republicans have come under fire for allegedly calling the chamber into recess to prevent C-SPAN from being able to air footage of the Democratic lawmakers' sit-in against gun violence.

Cameras go dark during House Democrats' sit-in
By Mario Trujillo - 06/22/16 12:43 PM EDT

House Democrat’s high-profile sit-in on the floor Wednesday is not being broadcast by the cameras positioned throughout the chamber because the House is technically in recess.

The incident highlights a major tension between C-SPAN, the network that has provided floor coverage for decades, and the House administration, which controls the video, audio and angles of the cameras.

The feed itself is produced by the House recording studio, which is under the control of the House majority leadership.

Since 1979, the company dedicated to broadcasting legislative proceedings has had to rely entirely on the House feed for its coverage. The company has made numerous requests to both parties over the years to set up its own cameras, which have been denied.
