..and I know there is a certain amount of irony in me defending this man, seeing how much I usually rage against firearms.
The reality is, he wasn't shot and killed through his own negligence. In fact, he wasn't even shot and killed through the negligence of someone in the same room.
He was sitting in an adjacent room, and one of the students forgot to clear his weapon before engaging in the lessons. That student pulled the trigger, and the bullet passed through the wall and hit the owner in the neck.

I think they have a problem with the curriculum in their gun safety class. nt
