I don't think it is beyond reason to consider the possibility that the original source was domestic or love relationship conflict. And, I think that severe conflict and confrontation are possible in most relationships where people are heavily invested. Sibling and parent-child relationships included. Humans are subject to pretty intense emotional reactions when it comes to interpersonal relationships.
