With 16 million people narrowly missing out on a Remain result, hundreds of thousands have rushed to sign a petition demanding a new vote.
Just one million votes were in the result of the historic referendum, with Leave winning with 51.9 per cent of the vote compared to 48.1 per cent wanting Remain.
The result heralds seismic shift in the political landscape as the process now begins to sever ties with our neighbour.
The petition, set up by William Oliver Healey, reads: "We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the Remain or Leave vote is less than 60% based on a turnout less than 75%, there should be another referendum."

Yes, the Brexit ringleaders are talking about a 2-year time-line for complete withdrawal.

I feel bad for them too. In my view the referendum should have required a 2/3 threshold to leave
