1. Sounds nice, but what about those that are not "employees", like the unemployed and indigent"

Taxes will have to be increased on everybody, including those least able to pay. The state will have to set up a healthcare reimbursement system, and that will require thousands of employees processing claims. Not saying it isn't the way to go, but it is not a simple path to get there.
