After setting up the computer I realized he would have difficulties with the this OS. I gave him an old XP laptop which lasted a few months and put the new computer away. Finally I upgraded it Windows 10 and showed him how it is was different. A month later he brought it back to me and it was dead. I tried to system restore several times with no luck and ended up taking it to a computer tech. He told that Windows destroyed the hard drive sectors. I researched this and found out I was not the only one experiencing this. I brought a new hard drive and put Windows 7 on it. The computer is running faster and I shut off the update to 10.
