was the way to do it. It took a couple hours, but once it was installed, it was easy. I refused to "upgrade" to 8, as it failed my personal crash test. Hubby had 8 on a lappie, and I crashed it in under 2 minutes, without even really trying hard.
Yes, there are some things that I needed to get used to, coming from 7, but there were things I needed to get used to with 7 coming from XP.
When my motherboard crapped out on me, I did have to reactivate Win 10. That's because it was a MAJOR hardware change. It cost me nothing but time, to work with the tech on the phone.

The very same thing happened to me. I was asked if I wanted Win 10 to upgrade. I said no.
