For one thing, she is really intelligent--salutatorian of her high school class. And her career moves have been so smart. She would not have done this without taking the pulse of her fans, I feel. She has never cultivated the Christian right with her music. For one thing, her songs aren't exactly the type the Christian music followers would like anyway. They are way less "wholesome" than the Dixie Chicks songs. She is truly the female version of some of the rough "guy songs" in country music. Some people would prefer that the females in country music sing the more subserviant type songs, and she doesn't. There are a lot of people that prefer Miranda Lambert, for instance, because she is more traditional female country.

And what a fabulous voice!
