Did anyone on this thread even bother to read the letter? All the bloviating over the word 'please' , and not one word about this sentence:

"Because the State has demonstrated its unwillingness to comply with these requirements, I have authorized the initiation of an enforcement action against Florida in federal court."

That's the one that says 'cut it the fuck out.' I don't know if you realize it, but the state of the law (Voting Rights Act) isn't some blunt instrument. The Justice Dept. needs a court to order Florida to stop their purge. The letter is a direct and complete rebuke of Scott's lame argument. The court filing is the (court-tested) hammer of the federal government coming down under the reliable provisions of the Voting Rights Act.
