52. Funny I was at the election returns last tuesday

and some of the things I heard at the Republican Lincoln Club from supporters can't be published.

OTOH, I was at two democratic clubs recently, and there was SOME trash talk too. Just like the Lincoln Club, only reason there was more during the returns was the alcohol involved.

As I said, part of the job. IT IS FAR LESS PREVALENT, since it is real life... and real life people are more careful... I mean talking smack may get you called on it and shit... and it might not be pretty... but it is there.

Online (and there are plenty of studies to back this up), people are less polite and tend to go off a tad easier... since they are anonymous and shit. But if the feelings are expressed on line, you can bet that the feelings are real as in real life.

And that is where the trend becomes dangerous. We are seeing groups of people on BOTH sides seeing the other side as less than human... there is a special hell in there, quite potentially.
