Did the speech writers try and sabotage Trump's convention? [View all]

It's not like he needs that much help. However, Melania's speech obviously had huge parts lifted from from Michelle Obama's 2008 Convention Speech. It's obvious that she didn't write it, and it's known that she had speechwriters working on it. It's highly unlikely that Melania lifted whole sections of the speech like that herself--she probably didn't even realize it. (And truth be told, she probably didn't write a word of it. They likely wrote it all for her and sent her out the door with it--that's usually how things are done this high up in politics.)

So, let's be clear: they had to know they would get caught. If you were going to steal someone's speech like that, you don't do it from the incumbent First Lady who delivered basically the same speech at a previous convention. It's like they were not even trying to hide it.

...so, tinfoil hat on, was this an act of intentional sabotage?

We know how the elite's in the Republican party hate Trump. Would they do this to his wife, in an effort to taint the convention with scandal, knowing that this would be the story heading out of the first day?

Let's be clear, if this wasn't sabotage, it was a career ending move for those speech writers.
