Like, look, the whole Milo Yannonopolous (sp?) thing-- the guy clearly broke the "don't push your luck" rule (to put it in DU context) and was a rather consistent and prolific dick, but he was dancing on the other side of threats and violence.

So it makes it harder for twitter to argue that they aren't pushing an ideological agenda with something like that, especially when there ARE people out there posting violent stuff and not getting banned.

And it's hard to have an argument about "hate speech", like, here without being accused of defending obnoxious shit. Still, there are plenty of people- like, on DU- who will argue with a straight face that a cartoon of mohammed is "hate speech" and should be censored, but calling for the cartoonist who drew it to be killed--- is not.



I would imagine that if you're following the accounts you are, it's plenty fucking depressing, though.
