by crazy guys because they're pissed off about being gay, not being gay, wanting to be gay, not wanting to be gay, being bullied, having no friends, not getting the girlfriend they want, their wife leaves them, their kids hate them, the object of their desire rejects them, they got bullied at work, they got in fights at work, the sky wasn't blue enough, the voices told them to, they hated their mom, they hated their dad, they hated their brother, they hated their sister, they weren't paid enough, they couldn't find a job, they worked at the post office, the neighbor's dog was barking, etc....

are not defined as terrorism.

It's not any more complicated than that, other than understanding the 'motivations' behind the actions. Hell, understanding them is often just not even possible. People who kill other people are not rational.
