(115 posts)I live in terror of a Trump presidency. And though I am new to this discussion group, I have been a political & campaign participant for years. More than I care to admit actually. But we Democrats are historically famous for shooting ourselves in the foot with high minded idealism.
Don't get me wrong - I love high minded idealism - but to be effective it must be crafted to exist in the real world. So anyone voting for a third party candidate, wrapping themselves in the cloak of moral superiority because they are above a politician like Hillary Clinton - then I say thanks for a Trump presidency and the pervasive havoc it will visit on our country and the world.
You want to reform the party more to the left - I love it! Do it over the next four years through whatever viable means there are - but for now the ONLY thing you can do to stave off the gutting of the liberal agenda is to vote for Hillary. A third party vote may appeal to some sanctimonious vanity or need to make a political statement - but guess what, no one cares. However, we will all care about the extreme right wing agenda and the appointed justices that will make that conservatism a reality for the next 30 years.
