15. Except we don't know the full story

People overreact to stupid things all the time. For example, go look at Free Republic or Trump's twitter feed any time Obama does or says anything. We don't have the full context of those emails. We don't have anything linking those emails to any real world consequences. I would argue DWS resigning is a reflection of her understanding that it's actually meaningless whether she did anything wrong or not, that the witch hunt demanded somebody's head on the chopping block. As chair DWS is in the best position to resign so that the party convention can happen without having to deal with this as an on-going issue.

You may recall that some people in the Salem witch trials confessed to being witches. Your logic would require that mean they were actual witches, yet there were no credible reports of anybody being turned into a newt (with or without getting better).

If somebody is on the record as an anti-semite, has run away from his day in court on rape charges, knowingly associates with neo-nazis and generally blames unproveable conspiracies, I start to question if they are actually giving me anything other than a line of bullshit, no matter what evidence they claim to have given that I can't trust them to be honest about it. Assange long ago lost any benefit of the doubt with me.
