He's figuring that it will deflect from his horribleness and garner sympathy for his wife after her stolen speech.

But remember to point out these facts:

Rupert Murdoch owns the New York Post. He supports Trump. He condoned Roger Ailes' horrendous behavior for decades.

Both Rupert and Donald are willing to gleefully debase Melania in order to gain political ground.

As for the hooplah they are expecting, my guess is (aside from some faux outrage from his talking puppets at Fox) the rest of us will express a collective "So what?"
