(135,425 posts)He relies on the AA program to get him back on track. I see him struggling with his issues; I just can't sit silent in the face of trivializing or mocking the mechanism he uses to try to keep his difficult life together. It just seemed if not cruel, certainly in very poor taste. I wondered if there are any others here who might look at that kind of joking and feel a bit marginalized or denigrated.
We don't really know what others around us are dealing with--everyone has a burden to bear.
I'd rather see us mock The Con-ald for his choices--his shitty 'policy' statements, rife with hatred and bigotry, his penchant for bloviating, his unfamiliarity with anything resembling accuracy or the truth; hell, even mock him for his fondness for orange Man Tan and cotton candy dyes for his hair...those are choices he, and he alone, makes.
