do we go down with a mad man at the helm? Or do we go down replacing him and alienating a large block of GOP voters?

its a real problem as both scenarios lead to bad ending in November. The must process longterm effects....based on GOP DONORS and BIG MONEY people.....which move helps/huts with the money people.

another one, which move between jettisoning a deranged candidate and replacing (most likely with Paul Ryan) achieves better longterm goals with the overall american electorate? If the gOP is willing to jetison a portion of their crazy base in hopes that in doing so those voters can be replaced with more moderate minded....it could be a long range goal.

The gop has a choice now....either way they are toast in nonmember but what works long range?
