(36,063 posts)However his campaign comes to an end he's going to need to deploy a covering narrative that makes himself look good. Leading a rebellion of angry orange-men doesn't really have much promise to do that.
Trump can blame others who he could claim were out to get him... the media, the oligarchs, the dems, etc. That's pretty run of the mill type stuff and he's already done some of that so it's got a chance. But it is really is hard to make the claim that the election was rigged because it's going to lack a specific hook into a sliver of reality. It's unlikely to have anything like 'hanging chad' to support it.
Another possibility is he could claim his wife's character was personally and harmfully attacked and he withdrew to protect her and the rest of his family. I think this one has a pretty good chance. There's a connection to a reality that everyone has heard, that would give him something specific to point at. Love of family is a sacred shield many political figures have hidden under.
