14. Assange waited till just before the DNC convention to release the emails

He sat on the info for over a month. And the DNC did not have time to react. So it ended up taking down Debbie in order to avoid a mutiny on the convention floor.

Assange knows if he releases something very damaging right before the election, there won't be time to do damage control. And it will impact voter sentiment right before people go to the polls.

So no...if he does have something juicy, he'll hold on to it.

There is also the situation that the hackers "salted" the data. In other words they created documents to make it more scandalous. By releasing it right before the election, there won't be any time to confirm the documents are bogus.
