When you know people who work on highway construction crews maybe it's different, but most drivers are assholes and don't seem to care when they're racing through busy work zones full of people out there trying to do their jobs and feed their families.
Let's talk about the drivers in Chattanooga. I am on 27 sometimes when going to meet musicians or shop off the mountain. The speed limit is 45 due to construction on 27, but don't tell that to the Hamilton County official van that flew past me doing at least 70. Don't tell that to the good people of Chattanooga who act like that stretch of 27 is the goddamned Indy 500.
NO ONE in Chattanooga can even keep it at 50 in that workzone. The drivers in Chattanooga don't give a FUCK about the human beings just on the other side of that temporary barrier, and there is never a cop in sight.
I try to keep to the speed limit and end up dealing with a bunch of road-raging Chattanoogans who don't give a damn if they kill someone as long as they get to their destinations a few minutes quicker.
Ah, life in the gracious, sultry Bible Belt where we do unto others if we fucking feel like it, and we never fucking feel like it..... bless your heart...
A HUGE POX on people who speed in work zones, especially when you can see the workers right there. Fuck ALL of you.
On edit: yes, I am salty about it, 
but I know that people who insist on speeding through work zones are worse than gun humpers. Their "precious" is their right to send their massive machines hurtling through space whenever and wherever they want. So I fight a Yuuuuge losing battle.
And not implying that you, TrogL are a work zone speed demon.
Oh, and imprison Trump. Now.
