While i certainly get your point and can't disagree about women's issues, either the premise or their importance on DU, i've been reading this thread on and off for a couple days now, and that begs the question:
What is the women's issue as it pertains to these outfits?
NBC is showing lots of different stuff on lots of channels, and the US women's team is one of the favorites to win the gold. Seems only natural they would show a US team, particularly is that team is a contender.
This thread has made it clear that these women have the choice as to what the uniform would be. They made this choice.
Seems like people are looking to make this into an issue about women's rights, when these hard working, world class athletes made a decision that they don't particularly like.
So, sincerely asking: what is the women's issue here?
I honestly am not getting how the concept applies to this situation.
