In The Trumps: Three Generations That Built An Empire, by Gwenda Blair, in the last chapter is Fred's funeral. Donald brought his then-girlfriend, Melania Knauss to the service. She was wearing a very low neckline and said nothing. Donald did the eulogy and didn't mention his father except in passing. The eulogy was all about the greatness of Donald J. Trump. The attendees were either flabbergasted or shrugged it off as Donald being Donald.

By contrast, when Trump attended the funeral of one of the three employees killed in the helicopter crash (Atlantic City), the brother of the deceased broke down and sobbed while performing the eulogy. Trump said to his assistant that he was impressed, that he could never "do that". When the assistant confirmed that it must be very hard for the brother, Trump corrected him, clarifying that he meant that he could never make an asshole out of himself like the brother. (This is in Trumped by John O'Donnell.)
