2. Icahn is attempting to counter Trump's hysteria with a classic RW argument.

That argument (which always seems to come from a rich guy ) is an attempt to move Trump's message on to the traditional RW message. May resonate with some of the mouth breathing base, but Trump's insanity is driving moderate R's and Independents away in droves. Trump himself will never modify his message because it's all he's capable of understanding.
