Building on leased land is a terrible idea.
Buying a parcel of land means you will own it.
Or at least you will eventually own it.
Leasing land and then investing your future in it.
I can imagine the crushing grief and dread those people are feeling though.
He is an asshole to do this when he could probably compensate them for their losses easily.
