5. My prediction has been 10-15 days prior to 1st debate.

He'll be slaughtered and he knows that. It is so obvious that the fact is able to penetrate his narcissism and self-deceit. But he can't quite immediately prior to 1st debate because that would be too obvious.

At the same time, he wants this run to last as long as possible.
