15. I just talked with a coworker who knew a guy convicted on a drug charge

Apparently even convicted felons don't get their houses searched (for example by their parole officers). His friend owned a .22 handgun, and the friend said that he knew he could be arrested for it.

So apparently if you're caught with it, you're sent back to jail. But nothing is done to make sure you (a convicted felon) don't have one.

To me, if the judge issues an order prohibiting you for having firearms for the next five years (especially in connection with a violent crime like hit-and-run), the judge should also issue a search warrant to make sure you don't have one already.
