5. Nothing Happens To Christie...

if we allow nothing to happen. True, the system is slanted to the rich and powerful. The press corps has become weak and feckless. The federal prosecutor is overly cautious and timid. It's the kind of environment that allows a disease like Christie to grow and thrive. However, the evidence is out there. We can't sit by and idly accept that this is just the way things are. If Watergate took place today, Nixon would happily finish out his second term and Woodward and Bernstein would be covering the Redskins, or better yet, blogging about some inane subject for clicks on the Washington Post's web site. Abuse of power of the magnitude that Christie has engaged in is a cancer on our society, but no bigger or more virulent a cancer than complacency.
