(16,214 posts)28. I was recovering from surgery.
I had broken my right leg on 8-8-2001 and staying at my parents while I recovered. I was a long haul truck driver and was woken up by my parents telling me "to come into the living room". As I come into the room as the 2nd plane hit the 2nd tower. It was the most unforgettable thing I had ever seen. My Parents and I watched the news the rest of the day and into the early morning of the 12th. I had a cousin who worked at the pentagon, but was working at a private military contractor in another part of Washington DC. I still get the chills from the thoughts of that day.
