(942 posts)When 60+ percent think the country is going in the "wrong direction" and less than 30 percent think the country is on the right track, that's always dangerous for any candidate seen as "more of the same".

the Pew poll shows an underlying pessimism that people have about their own situation compared to similar people 50 years ago, and even more pessimism about their children's future. Again, potentially dangerous for the candidate seen as the "incumbent".

Trump has certainly not made the sale. But he has toned down his "wild man" act a lot and he is getting closer.
