33. Years ago a DU'er was suffering from pancreatic cancer, and set up a PayPal account.

it was to help pay for procedure called a Whipple procedure. Some people from Free Republic told paypal that it was a scam and they froze the account. I don't know if he ever got it unfrozen, or if he got the operation, but he died soon after.

What is the Whipple surgery?
The Whipple procedure (pancreatoduodenectomy) is a complex operation to remove part of the pancreas, part of the small intestine and the gallbladder. The Whipple procedure is most often used to treat pancreatic cancer that's confined to the head of the pancreas.
