(2,322 posts)...means he's opened himself to investigations up the wahzoo. A t.v. personality can get away with all his tricks, lies and con. But being in the public eye like this opens you up to all kinds of investigations. Journalistic and otherwise. Not only that, but he has literally made himself a historical figure--given how unique a candidate he is. People are going to delve, investigate, do documentaries...and it's really hard to hide all the laws you're breaking, all the scams, all the damage you've done if that many people are taking microscopes and looking closely.
And while it's really easy to intimidate and sue one journalist or person with a lawsuit, it's a bit harder to do so when hundreds are doing so.
There is a chance that Trump will be too busy trying to stay afloat himself to be that wild card. Even his faithful followers only have so much cash in pocket to float him while he tries to divert the sharks that will start to circle him. Because the republicans aren't going to forgive him for what he did to their party, especially not those who were in the primary with him.
