64. Maybe they're afraid to discuss politics at work?

If they're as low on the totem pole and as uneducated as you say, they are probably very afraid of losing a good, steady job. They may feel very uncomfortable discussing something so sensitive as politics with someone higher up. They may figure that the best way to avoid politics at work is to pretend to be uninformed and uninterested.

If that's the case, the kindest thing to do would be to respect their wishes and avoid discussing politics with them.
