The Hurricane [View all]

Even if Hurricane Matthew does not hit Florida or the Carolinas directly this is already going to be a very costly, damaging storm. The parallel trajectory will really create damage from storm surge, large and dangerous rip currents, massive amounts of rain, and wind (possible tornadoes from the rain/storm bands.)

People, especially tourists, love to play in the water during storms. I'd see them every time in South Florida. But the rip current make it very dangerous because you cannot see them. They can basically suck you under and carry you hundreds of feet.

Hope the storm moves more northeast but the models are saying it will not.
