This horse, Rafalca, that we've been hearing about, is being ridden by someone else, not Ann. It's no different than owners of race horses hiring jockeys to ride their horses. And, that is even more "elitist" than doing dressage oneself.
Yes, I do realize she rides, too. But, business of buying horses and paying someone else to ride them in competition goes beyond "riding as therapy". For that reason, it gripes the hell out of me, too.
