Good for your parents. They absolutely did the right thing.

I wonder about that family. I wonder if they were so shell-shocked by the doctor's diagnosis that they weren't thinking clearly. Perhaps their scheme was their way of crying for help to your parents.

What happened to the little girl? Did you see her grow up? I hope her life was better than it would appear from your story.
