10. Well, Chaldeans were substantially Christian.

So they had that going for them.

But in the mid 1960's my family hosted a Turkish exchange student. He was Muslim, but what one would call a reformed Muslim. Turkey was still very much a secular state back then. But he occasionally wanted to go to a mosque. The only one in western Detroit area was in Dearborn Heights. So that's where we took him when he wanted to attend. We did the fasting thing with him during Ramadan. The feast at nightfall was fabulous as the whole family pitched in. And we all dug in!! Miray could eat two loaves of bread at one of those meals, so we learned to make an extra trip to the bakery those days.

It was a very joyful year.

And I still like the idea of Orville turning on a spit in his grave, in HELL!
