5. he's like a live political hand grenade

the grenade doesn't care who pulled the pin
the grenade doesn't care who threw it where
he's self destructing now, and taking down as much around him as he can
sure he's hurting the GOP, but he's also hurting over half the people in this country, causing foreign relations problems and damaging faith in democracy itself

this morning, my wife was in tears over how vulgar and heartless tRump and his followers are. even in a blueberry state like Oregon, 37% of the electorate is still planning to mark the bubble for a racist, xenophobic, fraudulent, narcissistic, misogynistic sexual predator. they may be a minority, but they're a vocal, obtrusive, violent minority, with a tendency to be armed.

for a while i was laughing giddily at the prospects of tRump demolishing the Republican party, but this kind of remodeling comes with a high price tag. as i've said before, we're looking at a significant political realignment, but there's a process to go through en route and it isn't going to be pretty or painless.
