In reply to the discussion: family chastised for raising 2 kids in two bedroom condo [View all]The Velveteen Ocelot
(130,621 posts)31. Generations of kids were raised in small houses
and lived to tell about it. I grew up in a small house with only ONE bathroom that my parents and two brothers and I had to share! My brothers shared a bedroom; I had one to myself but it was minuscule. The house I live in now is quite small - less than 1000 sq. ft., and originally it had 2-1/2 tiny bedrooms in what's basically a finished attic and only one small bathroom, which was downstairs. When I moved in 25 years ago the neighbors told me that there had once been a family with eight kids living there. Somehow people managed. The kids in the condo are sharing a bedroom. BFD. Looks like they have nice parents who love them and they get to go to the beach all the time. The note-writer has a lot of nerve calling the parents selfish.

A lot of people feel entitled to tell other people how to run their lives, don't they.

The size of a house is not what is important to child, the size of your heart is.
