(15,526 posts)I hate it and I think it's DANGEROUS!
I just take issue with anyone who suggests that we're not all essentially the same as humans.
I'll even concede that MAYBE white people are more brutal on average. Maybe, maybe not. I do wonder sometimes if cultural influences eventually show up genetically, like the claim by some scholars that Ashkenazi Jews have the highest average IQ's the world today because of their centuries-long employment opportunities in old Europe (which was more of a scholarly nature). People who were more successful in those endeavors were more likely to get married and have children, or so goes the argument. Jewish people who remained in the Middle East supposedly have lower average IQ's.
Whites went through brutal times in old Europe, so maybe there was an evolutionary force that selected for harshness too?
On a more personal note, I've shared my story of being assaulted and hospitalized by racist rednecks more than once on this board, and it's a little sad to me that I haven't even received a "that's too bad" comment from anyone. I'm an individual (in the here and now) who is very pro-Democrat, but I get the feeling that a PoC sharing a story about getting his/her feelings hurt would draw more compassion here. It's probably just an example of people being more sympathetic to what they've experienced themselves, I guess. That seems to be a trait among all people too.
