5. They had problems with the state Department printer

And had then printed at home.

I believe there were 8 confidential emails that were printed and they weren't classified at the time.

More to the point is the classification "confidential'. When I was in the UN and was on the daily circulation list (1980s) of US States Department teletype, everything was Confidental, including items from the front page of the newspaper. Nothing at the real level of classification Secret or Top Secret were in the emails.
