Consider this...
he is pathologically disturbed. He has the attention span of a gnat, no regard for the truth, HAS to be in charge of things, and can easily be manipulated by playing to his ego and need for incessant attention.
No body can tell him what to do, and he won't admit he does not know everything.
essentially a very tall disturbed 10 year old.
He is very thin skinned and sees people as things to be used.

his ego loves the glorified idea of having so much power, but he does not yet realize that every single screw up by any of his staff, depts. or decisions are gonna land on HIM!
He wants to spend all his time complaining to the media for what they write, while totally lacking insight into how others see him.

It's gonna be a fucking circus, but the books and movies that follow should be fun.
