31. If you have the means...

...I would respectfully submit that you should consider putting your house on the market now and moving your husband and yourself to Kauai as soon as you can. I don't know your personal situation, but I wouldn't consider your decision to move as uprooting your husband. Rather you would be giving him the opportunity to spend his last years in one of the most beautiful, peaceful and serene places on the face of the planet. Plus you'll be in a good place for yourself when the time comes.

Consider selling your house now while the economy is where it's at now, before everything crashes. Real estate and home prices in Hawaii in general are pretty high and when the crash comes it won't be getting any better.

I sincerely feel for you and your situation, and I hope you can find a path to you and your husband's happiness.
